The part of your AC that actually moves the air
You never see your air handler — it lives in a closet or the attic — but it's what pushes every degree of cooling through your home. When the blower, coil, or filtration inside it fails, comfort stops at the vent. We repair, service, and replace air handlers with flat-rate pricing and never a change order.
Three parts, one job
An air handler is really three systems working together. When any one slips, you feel it.
The blower
The motor and fan that push air through your ducts. When it fails, nothing comes out of the vents at all — belts, wiring, and lubrication need periodic inspection.
The evaporator coil
Where the air actually gets cold. A dirty coil can freeze over or blow air that's moving fine but never cools. We clean and service coils before that happens.
The filtration
The filter protects the blower and coil from dust and debris. Neglect it and the other two parts pay the price — quietly, then expensively.
All three, serviced annually
Annual air handler service covers filter, coil cleaning, and a full blower inspection. It's included in the BFF membership's yearly Home Comfort Inspection.
Weak airflow? Warm air? Start here.
Air handler problems usually show up as weak airflow from the vents, air that moves but doesn't cool, or new rattles and squeals from the closet or attic. A licensed technician diagnoses the actual cause — the $149 diagnostic is waived with any approved repair — and quotes the fix flat-rate before any work begins. If the handler is old enough that replacement makes better sense, we'll show you both numbers honestly, and our installation work carries a 10-year warranty.
Air handler questions, answered plainly
How do I know my air handler is the problem?
If air stops moving entirely, suspect the blower; if air moves but isn't cold, suspect the coil. Either way we diagnose the actual cause rather than swapping parts on a guess.
How often should an air handler be serviced?
Once a year — filter check, coil cleaning, and a blower inspection. Annual service is what keeps a small airflow issue from becoming a dead system in July.
What does a repair cost?
The diagnostic is $149, waived with any approved repair. Every fix is quoted flat-rate before work begins, and the quote is the final price. BFF members save 10–20%.
